‘Captain America: Civil War’ Update: Directors explain how Spider-Man fits in new film; Tom Holland “10 times” more excited

'Captain America: Civil War' is an upcoming superhero film directed by Joe and Anthony Russo. Tom Holland's Spider-Man will make his first appearance in the MCU through the new film. The co-directors explained what makes his version special and how he fits in with the rest of the series.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, co-directors Joe and Anthony Russo revealed how Tom Holland's new Spider-Man could fit into their upcoming film as the this will be the young actor's debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

Joe Russo explained, "We took a very personal approach to the character... one of the most important components of that was that he's a high schooler burdened with incredible powers and responsibility. That really differentiates him from every other character in the Marvel universe as opposed to other superheroes."

Joe Russo added that casting Holland - a much younger actor in comparison to past Super-Man actors Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield - lent a certain authenticity to the character. His brother and co-director Anthony chimed in hinting that Spider-Man will develop a special relationship in the new film but refused to give out more details, according to IGN. Anthony Russo said, "I won't talk about the personal relationship he develops, but it's very interesting... One of the most special parts of the movie."

Meanwhile, Holland expressed his enthusiasm over his new role as the webslinging superhero. According to Comicbook.com, the 19-year old English actor said that appearing in the upcoming 'Captain America: Civil War' film has made him "10x more excited" to portray Spidey.

He said, "Captain America: Civil War will be a brilliant movie, a huge movie and I'll have the support of the success of that movie so that I can go on to my own... It was also a real eye-opener to what it will be like when I start my film."

'Captain America: Civil War' is an upcoming action-adventure and superhero film directed by Joe and Anthony Russo. It is scheduled to premiere in theaters on May 6, 2016 and is intended as part of the MCU's Phase Three.

Hollywood cast for 'Captain America: Civil War includes Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Paul Bettany, Elizabeth Olsen, Sebastian Stan, Paul Rudd, Tom Holland, Marisa Tomei, Chadwick Boseman, Anthony Mackie and Don Cheadle among others.
