Chuwi Hi12 To Run Both Windows 10 & Android 5.1; Release Expected This Month

Chuwi might not be a well-known tech company but it can create devices that are just as competitive as other manufacturers. In fact, it created a 12-inch tablet that is capable of running in both Windows 10 and Android 5.1. Known as the Chuwi Hi 12, the tablet is expected to hit the market shelves this month.

According to BetaNews, the Chuwi Hi12 is capable of blending the worlds famous Microsoft's and Google's operating systems to create a budget version of the Surface with an Android bolt-on. As this tablet is running on both Android and Windows, it's no surprise that under its chassis a Cherry Trail processor is found to keep things ticking over.

With other Chuwi tablets, there has been the choice of a Surface-style keyboard attachment, and it's hard to think of that this won't also be the scenario with the Hi12. Nevertheless, the tablet is not exactly a powerhouse; it is a more than capable device that would fit perfectly as a low-cost tablet for a student, an extra device for travelling with or just a toy to tinker with.

Furthermore, International Business Times cited the features and specifications that the Chuwi Hi12 tablet has. This device features a 12-inch display and has support for 2160 x 1440 pixels. It is engineered by Intel X5 Cherry Trail Z8300 that will be able to work at a maximum clocking speed of 1.84 GHz. The SoC also includes 8th generation of Intel HD graphics.

The Chuwi Hi12 is packed with a 4 GB of RAM and a native storage of 64 GB. The external storage slot of the device can hold up to 128 GB of microSD card.

Camera wise, it has a 5-megapixel snapper on the rear panel whereas the front side is of 2 megapixels. Previous speculations have suggested that it will be equipped with connectivity features like two USB 2.0 ports, a micro USB slot and USB Type-C port.

Additionally, one of the images of the Chuwi Hi12 shows that it provides option to connect detachable keyboard. All these are powered by a massive battery capacity of 10,000 mAh. The tablet will be available in two color options: gold and space gray.

As for the Chuwi Hi12 tablet's price, WinBeta stated on its article that pricing details are yet to be revealed. But given that its younger sibling is on sale for less than $100, it can be expected for the tablet to cost that much as well.

If the consumer is looking for a budget-priced tablet that is barely for entertainment and students, the Chuwi Hi12 can be a great option for them. Fortunately, the device is expected to go on sale in U.S, Europe and other countries all over the world.
