Michael Weatherly Receives Probation for DUI Charge

By

Actor Michael Weatherly has recently pleaded no contest to the driving under the influence (DUI) charge he was accused of. The charge came from his arrest last November. The 47-year-old actor was detained by police officers when he was pulled over in Los Angeles. When he was tested, Weatherly's blood alcohol level was found to be higher than the legal limit of .08. Following this, the actor was charged with a couple of counts of DUI. He spent almost 15 hours behind bars.

With his no contest plead, Weatherly received a sentence of three years on probation. Along with this probation period, the actor is to undergo a three-month Mothers Against Drunk Driving program and an alcohol program. This report comes in after friends and family of the actor have talked to him about attending rehab so he could kick his drinking habit.

Thankfully, Weatherly won't be serving time for the DUI charges filed against him. It was initially perceived that the actor would be facing up to six months in jail and a fine of $1,000. Jail time was ruled out considering this was Weatherly's first offense. Although, he still has to undergo the program and probation, Weatherly could still have enough time to shoot for his role. NCIS is currently in the middle of its 13th season.

Weatherly is an actor who is best known for his role on the hit TV series NCIS. He plays the role of Anthony "Tony" DiNozzo. He was also part of the TV program Dark Angel and played the role of Logan Cale, when it aired from 2000-2002. During the time that he was on Dark Angel, Weatherly dated actress Jessica Alba. A year later, the two broke off their engagement. Currently, Weatherly is married to Bojana Jankovic. The couple has a daughter and a son.
