iPad Mini October Release: Out in Stores November? (iPad v. iPad Mini)

An increasing number of tech websites have reached a consensus that Apple's latest product, the iPad Mini, will be launched in October and then will make it to the shelves in November.
Although, Apple has said nothing about its mini version of the popular iPad, techies have concluded on certain features that are likely to a part of the new Apple product. As the name suggests the iPad Mini is smaller than the third generation iPad, but is that all? Here is a comparison between the two tablets.

1) Size: But Obviously! iPad Mini is smaller than the iPad 3. Rumors suggest that the iPad Mini will have a screen of 7.8 inches, which makes it about two inches smaller than the iPad whose screen is 9.7 inches. As seen in pictures leaked on the internet, the mini tablet looks very similar to the iPad except that it appears to have thicker corners.
2) Price: The iPad sells at a starting price of $499 and highest range is $699, depending on the gigabytes. The iPad is available in 16Gb, 32GB and 64GB. The iPad Mini is said to range between $249 and $299 at a basic capacity of 16GB. It is still unclear whether the model will be available in higher GB. Apple's iPad Mini will compete with Amazon's Kindle Fire (16GB - $199) and Nexus Fire (16GB -$249).Ewan Spencer of Forbes.com said, "From the evidence today, I'd expect to see a 16GB iPad Mini with Wi-Fi connectivity to launch at $299, with a 32GB model at $399, and a 64GB model at $499."
3) Dock Connector: The iPad mini will have a new dock connector that will make all your Apple accessories obsolete.
4) Similarities: Both the iPad Mini and iPad have 5MP cameras. The iPad has a rare facing camera and the iPad Mini will have similar capabilities. The supposition is that the mini tablet will have two cameras - front and rare facing. The two tablets are similar aesthetic (except for the size).
iPad Mini will be a miniature is said to have Wifi, a new array of applications, better Facebook and Google Map integration. According to a Forbes article the basic storage capacity of the iPad Mini will likely be 16 GB. The tablet will also have a lightning' 8-pin dock connector and Apple's popular Siri. There is a general consensus that the iPad Mini will have Apple's new operating system, iO6. There is also talk about Apple's very own music service, something analogous to Pandora Radio.
Apple, as is characteristic of the Cupertino company to remain mum about any new product and let the rumors and speculations take over to create excitement and enthusiasm among customers, seems to be applying the same tactic with the iPad Mini. So now we'll have to wait for October to see if the rumors are valid. Now that Apple has launched the iPhone 5, all eyes are turned to Apple's next big launch - iPad Mini.
